SAP Team Lead - AMS Support

We are looking for a hands-on SAP Team Lead to support our Business as Usual (BAU) operations in the SAP Application Management Services (AMS) team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of existing SAP solutions, ensuring that any issues are quickly addressed and resolved. The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting the local rollout of the S/4HANA RISE transformation in the future, providing expertise during the transition to the new system.

What YOU will do:  

 

  • Lead the AMS team in supporting day-to-day operations, ensuring that SAP systems are stable, reliable, and efficiently supporting business needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Provide hands-on support for one or more SAP modules (SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, etc.), addressing both technical and functional concerns.
  • Actively participate in the design and solutioning discussions for the upcoming S/4HANA RISE transformation, ensuring local requirements are understood and addressed.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and functional teams to ensure that SAP systems continue to align with evolving business needs and requirements.
  • Guide and mentor team members on technical and functional issues, ensuring best practices and consistent support.
  • Coordinate with external SAP support vendors (if any) and internal teams for issue resolution and system optimization.
  • Maintain SAP systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Support the local rollout of S/4HANA RISE by preparing for the transition, providing ongoing support during and after implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and standards, and manage any custom developments or enhancements required for BAU.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of ongoing support activities, issues, and project readiness for the S/4HANA RISE rollout.

 

What YOU need to be successful:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with SAP, including at least 3 years in an SAP support or lead role.
  • Strong expertise in one of more SAP modules (SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, etc.), with experience in supporting BAU operations.
  • Experience in leading an SAP support team, managing day-to-day operations and troubleshooting critical issues.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP configuration, system optimization, and issue resolution in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with the S/4HANA RISE transformation is a plus.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership while also being involved in detailed design and solutioning discussions for the transformation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
  • SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) are a plus.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with S/4HANA RISE or cloud-based SAP solutions is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities.

Education:
