What YOU will do:
The Lead Dock Controller will be responsible to the Dock Supervisor. The Lead Dock Controller provides leadership direction and training to Dock Controllers and Clerks and ensures that all company policies are adhered to.
In This Role YOU will:
1. Maintain the security of the work dock. Access is to be limited to employees and customer representatives with an immediate need to be in the area.
2. Ensure that Dock personnel adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep a clean work area.
3. Be familiar with the Maintenance Agreement and review all tasks to determine billing status (i.e. Flat Rate or Over and Above).
4. Coordinate with Project Planner to assure that all billable tasks are being submitted to the customer representative for approval prior to being accomplished.
5. Initiate and review a daily budget report. Items with the potential to exceed budget are to be communicated to the Project Manager for resolution.
6. Receive the work package from the Project Planner. Verify that package is complete and with the aid of the production plan, and the Project Manager, load the work cards in the work boards in a manner that promotes efficient workflow (transfer from production controller responsibility)
7. Ensure all assigned personnel are at work and on the job on time.
8. Ensure all Dock personnel go to and from lunch and breaks on time.
9. Ensure that all timecards and job cards are properly filled out, accounted for, hours approved and processed in a timely manner
10. Maintain an up-to-date personnel roster with current telephone listing.
11. Evaluate the performance of personnel, to ensure all employees’ performance reviews are completed on time and fairly.
12. Report to your supervisor and provide recommendations on solutions for any personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily by Dock personnel.
13. Provide on-the-job training of employees.
14. Promote teamwork and good communication within the company.
15. Perform any work that may be assigned by Management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:
- Good understanding of dock control procedures and scheduling.
- Good understanding of all company policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and related materials.
- Working knowledge of production documentation requirements.
- Computer literate. SAP, Word, and Excel
- Supervision skills and experience
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Climate controlled environment.
SUPERVISION:
Under direction of, and reports to the Program Planning Manager. You perform assignments after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results.
INTERPERSONAL ENVIORMENT:
A high level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship between subordinates, management, and customer representatives.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office.
What YOU Need:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1-year of Dock Controller experience or 6 to12 months of aircraft lead/supervisory experience
