ST Engineering Aerospace is located at Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. What YOU will do:
Responsible for fabrication and assembly of all specific aircraft parts required of shop.
In This Role YOU will:
- Assemble and fabricate all primary and secondary structural components using aircraft sheetmetal Fab shop equipment following oral and written instructions such as supervisor’s directives and manuals to complete all routine and non-routine assignments in a timely manner.
- Maintain and store tools in a serviceable condition.
- Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep a clean work area.
- Maintain and supply personal records of work performed on OJT forms for the Training Department.
- Successfully complete any courses deemed necessary by the training department.
- Perform any work that may be assigned by his or her supervisor.
- Perform the duties of and provide necessary training for lower skill levels.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Proficient working knowledge in the following skills:
Proper use of safety equipment; use of drill motor and drills; use of rivet gun and sets; bucking bar selection; use of various types of cleco’s and clamps; counter sinking; use of countersink microscopes, rivet cutters, reamers, hand files, aircraft hand snips (L/H-R/H-Straight), hole finders, deburring tools, manual foot operated shears, manual metal brake, manual metal rollers, drill press, power disc sander, power band saw, high-speed sanders and grinders; recognition and use of titanium alloys and stainless steel; installation and removal of universal head rivets and flush head rivets; selection of appropriate fastener; install and remove hi-locs, cherry max and cherry –loc rivets, hi-shear fasteners and rivnuts; identify types of corrosion; proper corrosion clean-up; A. Aloding; B. Prime; C. Dissimilar metal protection; Operation of Reader Printer; General knowledge of ATA codes; general knowledge of all applicable F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures; familiar with paperwork procedures including job clocking system, routine and non-routine cards, S.R.M.’s service bulletins and work sign off/sell-off procedures.
SUPERVISION: Under general direction. Normally performs duties after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. Some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Assignment is usually reviewed upon completion.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to extract and replace parts in a timely manner. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by adhering for one’s own safety due to the dangers involved in the operations of shop equipment. Working environment requires standing 90 % of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and report to work regularly.
What YOU Need:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- “A” license desired or special training.
- 0-2 years minimum experience in heavy commercial maintenance.
