What YOU will do:
The Manager, Technical Training and Records Department provides an oversight of the Technical Training Department, ensuring that effective aircraft maintenance training is provided in accordance with Company policy and FAA regulations, meets standards in safety, aircraft fleet reliability, operational and economic efficiency, and is consistent with the overall Company and departmental objectives.
In This Role YOU will:
- Responsible to the Director, Quality for the overall aircraft maintenance training needs of the Company.
- Manages the Technical Training Department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, and coordination with other interrelated departments.
- Coordinates with the Director of Quality, Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Managers, and related Technical Operations personnel, to implement and maintain technical training needs and standardization.
- Responsible for assuring the maintenance training program manuals, maintenance training modules, and all related training courseware is current and consistent with Company policies and procedures, FAA guidance, industry standards, as well as all applicable state or local laws.
- Responsible for modifications to existing maintenance training programs, including any necessary FAA acceptance.
- Responsible for the oversight of new maintenance training program development and implementation in conjunction with all necessary approvals and acceptance.
- Responsible for assuring specialty and targeted training to address noted problem areas is provided as designated by the Director, Quality.
- Oversee the development of technical training curriculums to ensure they contain current and complete information and incorporate required Company training standards.
- Oversee the scheduling of required and elective training modules to ensure sufficient training coverage is available for all Technical Operations personnel.
- Responsible for assuring all training records are maintained per applicable Company policy and FAA requirements.
- Responsible for notifying the Director of Quality (or his designee) of any maintenance training currency issues and related regulatory compliance requirements.
- Responsible for supplying the Director of Quality with any information relating to the overall effectiveness of the Maintenance Training Department.
- Ensures Technical Training Department personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their job requirements effectively.
- Responsible for Technical Training Department personnel, hiring, training, and completing performance evaluations as necessary.
- Maintain the Technical Library with current information for ready availability as required.
- Monitor and ensure all documents are current to satisfy library requirements, i.e. Service Bulletins, AD Notes, FAR's, Type Certificate Data Sheets, etc.
- Oversee and assist the Technical Library Specialist in maintaining all satellite library locations and other library related duties as necessary.
- Ensure complete and current distribution of technical manuals, publications and pertinent revisions throughout VT MAE.
- Procure all manuals and technical documents requested by VT MAE personnel.
- Procure from proper sources, all new manuals, publications, and other required information for VT MAE as requested by the various departments.
- Responsible for publication and distribution of SQBN’s.
- Responsible for reproduction and mailing to manual holders, revisions to VT MAE Repair Station & Quality Control Manual, VT MAE Policy and Procedure Manual, VT MAE Repair Station Training Manual and the VT MAE Quality System Manual.
- Maintain and order all Quality Control forms and labels.
- Additional responsibilities for the position may be defined in approved or accepted Company manuals.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Quality.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged work in an office environment.
- Repetitive motion such as typing.
- Minimal physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Computer work, in a typical office environment, sitting for much of the day.

What YOU Need:
- Associate degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing a training program OR background in adult education preferred.
- Airframe and Powerplant License and/or Repairman Certificate preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience required.
- Intermediate PC competency using MS Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, and general internet applications.
