What YOU will do: 

The Production Liaison engineer should be responsible to the Program Manager for all engineering services and technical assistance.


In This Role YOU will:
 

Technical Support

  • Provide real-time engineering support to production teams to resolve technical issues during aircraft maintenance and repair activities.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accurate implementation on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to address discrepancies and implement solutions promptly.
  • Provide repair schemes (with drawings or sketches) and Engineering Authorization (EA) for the required repairs.
  • Familiar with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) technical data (such as Engineering drawings, Structural Repair Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Airplane Maintenance Manual, etc).
  • Communicate with OEMs and customers for technical advice and approval related to the repair work.
  • Follow up with Production Department for the implementation of the proposed repair scheme/EA’s. Make changes or revisions to the EA’s or repair schemes to facilitate the repair work.
  • Assist Production Department in troubleshooting of airplane systems that are not covered in the manuals.

Coordination and Communication

  • Act as a liaison between the engineering, production, and quality assurance departments to ensure clear and effective communication.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and meetings to address production challenges and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed of engineering changes and updates that impact production activities.

Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for improvement in the maintenance and repair processes and recommend innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.
  • Develop and implement best practices, procedures, and guidelines to optimize production operations.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with FAA, EASA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering support activities, including issue resolution and process changes.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including engineering orders, work instructions, and repair schemes.

Training and Development

  • Provide technical guidance and training to production staff to enhance their understanding of engineering requirements and standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of training programs for new technologies and processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.


What YOU Need: 

  • B.S. Degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace
  • Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or MRO environment.
  • Experience in Structures engineering is preferred.
