What YOU will do: 

The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead Inspector shall report to the Manager Quality Assurance. The QA Lead Inspector shall be responsible for overseeing the evaluations of VT MAE’s quality system requirements for compliance with FAA, VT MAE, customer, and other regulatory requirements and evaluating the conformity activities with respect to those requirements.

 

In This Role YOU will: 

• Evaluate VT MAE’s procedures and practices for conformance to customer and regulatory agency requirements.

 • Perform surveillance of the QA inspectors as well as VT MAE’s activities within a customer’s program.

• Document non-conformities on Corrective Action Reports (CAR’s) in accordance with PPM QC-010.

 • Assist those responsible for non-conformity in the determination of the root cause and steps required for both corrective and preventive action.

 • Perform follow-up surveillance to determine the effectiveness of CAR corrective and preventive actions.

 • Periodically review past non-conformities and other available data to identify recurring non-conformities and the root causes as opportunities for quality system improvement.

 • Assist Training, Production and Quality management in educating personnel on the requirements of the customer programs.

 • Maintain a quality perspective in the production areas to encourage good safety and maintenance practices.

• Interface with VT MAE management and customer representatives as necessary to facilitate program and quality system improvements.

• Perform other job functions as directed by the Manager Quality Assurance

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Proficient with all Microsoft Office computer applications as well as Microsoft Access Database; strong writing and presentation skills; proficient skills in organizing, analyzing and preparing reports; excellent communication skills; strong interpersonal skills needed for frequent interaction with customers, Leads, Managers, Directors, and subordinates. Thorough knowledge of aircraft manuals and related materials; thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance and non-destructive testing; thorough knowledge of paperwork procedures, routine/non-routine cards, S.R.M.’s and work sign off procedures; familiar with F.A.R.’s and com.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Climate controlled environment as well as industrial non-climate controlled environment.

 

SUPERVISION:

Under direction. Normally performs duties according to his or her own judgment requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary.

 

INTERPERSONAL ENVIORMENT:

A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship between various departments, management and customer representatives.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Primary responsibilities are performed in a non-climate-controlled hangar. Extensive walking and climbing stairs and ladders may be required. Must be able to cope with stress due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously and long work hours.   

 

What YOU Need:       

  • Must have graduated high school or obtained GED. AS degree is preferred.
  • 5 Years aircraft Maintenance. 3 Years QC or QA Inspector
