ST Engineering is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead and support the day-to-day operations of our IT department in Pensacola. This is a worker–leader role responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing IT activities while ensuring technology initiatives align with business objectives.
The IT Manager will collaborate with leaders across the organization to identify, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions that support operational efficiency and business growth. This role requires both strategic oversight and active participation in IT operations.
This position is based on-site in Pensacola, Florida and offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the organization’s continued success.

What YOU will do:
- commercial aerospace BUs, ensuring that all IT systems are operating at optimal level to support the day-to-day business operations.
- Utilize IT asset management best practices to procure and manage IT hardware and software inventory.
- Participate in technology infrastructure planning (short and long-term) to ensure reliable and efficient operations; includes backups, disaster recovery, network planning, monitoring, maintenance, and support (routers, servers, firewalls, etc).
- Direct and oversee enterprise-wide computer and user management (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- Manage the development, upgrade & deployment, monitoring and maintenance of all IT infrastructure and application systems. Enforce vendor SLAs and RTOs based on consultant contracts and vendor service agreements.
- Resolve business challenges by identifying the root cause, researching viable IT solutions, analyzing associated costs and benefits, implementing the best alternative and evaluating the end results.
- Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating organizational requirements.
- Regularly engages commercial aerospace stakeholders in the region to understand their IT needs and expectations and ensures that group IT programs are effectively communicated to end users.
IT Application Management:
- Manage in-house development team that delivers critical solutioning for the MRO industry.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and priorities to ensure on-time delivery.
- Work closely with department managers and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and adoption of emerging technologies, including AI.
- Forecast resource needs and allocation appropriately to meet project demands.
- Ensure software solutions meet user experience standards and customer requirements.
IT Security Management and Compliance:
- Implement and ensure adherence to all BU IT & Cyber policies and procedures. Coordinate IT self-assessments, responses to regulatory inquiries, inspections, audits and monitors remediation of regulatory findings.
- Oversee the development of reports, implementation of policies and standards, provide security guidance to stakeholders and promote security culture and drives improvements within the BUs.
- Ensure business continuity by implementing and validating disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
IT Program Management and Planning:
- Directly manage one or more key region-led IT projects and assume direct responsibilities in a project, including project planning, scheduling, managing resources and budget, ensuring project deliverables and objectives are met.
- Works with the region commercial aerospace leadership team on the IT strategy, to ensure it is aligned with the overall group IT strategy and direction.
- Manage all financial aspects of the IT Dept, including procurement, budgeting, and forecasting.
Organization Management:
- Strong communications skills and ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training & coaching employees, communicating job expectations, appraising their performance, and identifying training and skills advancement opportunities.
What YOU need to be successful:
Education: BS degree Computer Science/Management Information Systems or related discipline
- 7 years of work-related IT operations experience.
- 3-5 years’ direct supervision experience of an IT Department.
Must Haves:
- Strong working knowledge of SDLC and service desk management. ServiceNow experience is a plus
- Extensive application support experience. ITIL certification is a plus.
- Understanding of Security & Cybersecurity tools and processes.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure operations.
- Strong understanding of project management principles. PMP is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of core Microsoft technologies/implementations to include Active Directory, Domain Services, virtualization, Azure, storage solutions, data backup, disaster recovery, endpoint management, DNS, DHCP, GPO and SAML.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365/Azure.
- Experience with ERP is a plus.
- Ability to support after-hours IT on-call
- 25% travel to supported sites
