ST Engineering Aerospace is located at Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. What YOU will do:
The Supervisor, Technical Training will be responsible to the Manager, Technical Training and Library/Records Department for the overall operation of the Training department. He/she will plan, direct, layout and coordinate the activities of the department in a manner to minimize delays, errors and to maximize productivity and efficiency. He/she will oversee the training programs and staff. He/she will be responsible for creating or selecting course content and materials for training programs. Training may be in the form of a video, self-guided instructional manual, or online application and delivered in-person or through a computer, tablet, or other hand-held electronic device. Training may also be collaborative, with employees informally connecting with experts, mentors, and colleagues. He/she must ensure that training methods, content, software, systems, and equipment are appropriate and meaningful.
In This Role YOU will:
- Oversee training and development staff
- Develop and instruct training courses to support all employee skill levels.
- Coordinate and evaluate outside training vendors for specified aircraft systems maintenance training.
- Develop and implement regulatory and student training programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and instructors.
- Assess employees’ needs for training.
- Maintain current training records for each employee.
- Maintain controlled documents within the Training department.
- Maintain hard copy and/or electronic employee training records, making them readily available for production and support departments as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Good working knowledge and ability in the following:
The ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, by presenting ideas and giving instructions/guidance to subordinates, co-workers, and outside agencies in a manner that instructions are carried out and requested information is obtained; ability to motivate and lead a staff or team of subordinates to obtain goals, higher productivity, and quality work; the ability to delegate and prioritize work effectively, creatively and persuasively. Job applicant must possess a high level of computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, Convergence LMS. Ability to put together training plans, presentations, talking papers, etc.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Climate controlled office / classroom environment but not limited to this environment.
SUPERVISION:
Performs duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or regulatory authority. Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.
INTERPERSONAL ENVIORNMENT:
A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and the public.
PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT:
Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.
What YOU Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field or equivalent in training, education, and/or experience.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred.
- 5 years Aviation Maintenance related experience
- 4 years technical training and course development, either military or civilian.
- Technical writing and computer experience is a plus
