A&P Responsibilities:

• Works from technical publication (CMM, SRM, Service Bulletins, etc.) drawings, shop orders, repair procedures, sketches, pictures, lofts, written and verbal instruction. Records all inspection /maintenance actions using logbooks, computer terminals or other means as required. Assure that all required forms and documents are properly filled in and signed after maintenance work completion.

• Requires use of a variety of hand and power tools and shop measuring instruments, ovens, vacuum pumps, media blast equipment, painting equipment etc.

• Performs disassembly, repair, inspection and re-assembly operations to produce nacelle subassemblies and assemblies with or without the aid of tools or the existing tools do not locate all parts and assemblies and the specifications necessitate fitting and adjusting of parts or details and similar duties. Drills and reams with or without benefit of drill jigs or pilot holes; measures hole location from drawing. Trims or shapes parts to desired angle or contour. Cuts and inserts shims as required.

• Performs disassembly, repair, inspection and re-assembly of metal and composite bonded assemblies, where the work involves disassembly, repair or re-assembly without the aid of tools, or the existing tools do not locate all parts and assemblies and the specifications necessitate fitting and adjusting of parts or details and similar duties. Performing specialized bonding duties including kitting material, surface prep, lay-up, bagging, curing, debagging, grinding, trimming, and drilling involving metal bonded and composite assemblies.

• Oversees work and direct the activities of a union hourly team. Coordinate all first line activities (i.e. Methods, Production Control) to assure the meeting of production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

• Maintain the premises in a clean and organized manner. Prepare and cleaning tools as required.

• Seals parts after mixing and applying sealant using clamps, screws and fasteners as specified.

• Perform application corrosion preventative compounds, primers and topcoat paints in accordance with Engineering and/or Quality Control requirements.

• Performs continuity, pressure and leak checks as required to check out completed work.

• May use overhead hoist, power and hand equipment to lift, position, tie down and move materials, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies, as required.

• Unload and load shipping containers, skids and stands.

• May be required to pass medical exams to wear respiratory protective equipment.

• Performs assigned tasks without supervision;

• Complies with all company, OSHA and customer safety regulations. Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company.

 

Requirements

 

• Requires a HS diploma/GED equivalent and A&P Certification

• One to two years’ experience in nacelle or aircraft overhaul or maintenance preferred;

• Ability and willingness to manage multiple priorities

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to counsel and motivate workforce

• Ability to work overtime, off-shifts or weekends if required.

• Must be willing to travel to support On-wing MRO at Airlines on behalf of the Repair Station.

• Ability to read and write English and absorb requirements from written instructions and understand how they pertain to a specific part or component.

• Ability to correctly troubleshoot issues related to difficulties during disassembly, repair, and re-assembly with minimal oversight and direction.

• Ability to work independently or in situations with different types of people and with minimal direction.

• Ability to conduct detailed and satisfactory training of new employees.

• Ability and willingness to join the FAA-145 Drug and Alcohol Pool.
