The AI Business Leader leads the development and deployment of AI technologies across the ST Engineering MRAS organization. You will define strategic priorities, manage teams of machine learning, machine data science specialists, functional data evaluation and ensure AI supports long-term business goals.
As the AI Business Leader, your core responsibilities include overseeing research and experimentation, aligning AI use cases with product and commercial strategy, guiding model governance, and reporting to ST Engineering MRAS leadership on monthly basis. This role also includes working across Engineering, Legal and Operations to manage risk and compliance. The AI Business Leader will build the AI function from the ground up, developing the organization structure for ST Engineering MRAS’s AI team.

What YOU will do:
The AI Business Leader will lead the strategy, development, and governance of AI systems across the business. Responsibilities include:
- Setting vision and roadmap for AI use cases and platform capabilities
- Managing teams across all business functions (Engineering, Quality, Operations and Programs)
- Overseeing deployment of AI models into production environments
- Aligning AI initiatives with product and business goals
- Ensuring ethical and compliant use of AI and data
- Evaluating and selecting AI tooling, vendors and infrastructure
- Driving innovation through partnerships, pilots and emerging technology
- Reporting AI outcomes and ROI to executive leadership
- Leading recruitment and capability development across AI functions
- Collaborating with stakeholders across product, data, legal and engineering
This role blends leadership, strategy and technical depth in enterprise AI.
What YOU must bring to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of Engineering / Business Operations experience.
Desired Characteristics
- 12 + years of experience in business operations, machine learning, or data science.
- Proven leadership of project management, research, operational/functional process improvement and engineering teams.
- Track record delivering AI capabilities into production in Design, manufacturing operations and support functions.
- Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), computer vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and real-time inference.
- Experience setting technical direction and metrics for success.
- Skilled in stakeholder communication and cross-team delivery.
- Familiarity with ethical AI and legal/regulatory frameworks.
- Confidence working with product and engineering leadership.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and platforms.

Estimate salary range for this role: $170,000 to $220,000 per year. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
