Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ops Specialist
Date: Nov 2, 2026
Location: Baltimore, MD, US, 21220
Company: STENA
Who YOU are and what YOU can become
The AI Ops Specialist will operationalize how the MRAS AI team works day to day. You will implement corporate policies and procedures for AI, including governance and execution frameworks, and design compliance-by-design ways of working. You will define and help build the tools we use to scope, track, and monitor AI projects through the lifecycle, embedding policy checks and required attestations directly into these tools. You will lead our AI training program: influence the curriculum, author and curate materials, engage third-party trainers as needed, and track and reward completion to upskill employees. You will also walk the walk by implementing AI capabilities and features inside these operational tools so the AI team models an AI-native approach to work. This role is ideal for a strong early-career professional or intern-to-hire with demonstrable impact and the drive to build operational excellence in AI.
Who WE are and where WE are going
At ST Engineering MRAS, our employees have amazing opportunities to work on advanced technologies and systems that support thousands of customers and millions of people worldwide every day. From the first flight across the Pacific Ocean to developing highly complex structures for the most popular aircraft in the world, we have come a long way always with a can-do approach to problem solving while delighting customers with our high say-do ratio. We are looking for people with innovative ideas and the drive to help us grow into the future.
A pioneer in the production and assembly of complex aerostructures including aircraft and rocket components, engine nacelle systems, thrust reversers and advanced composite products, we apply the latest digital technologies and automation in composite design and manufacturing that are second to none. At ST Engineering MRAS, we are also rapidly augmenting our maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities leveraging the company’s expanded aircraft nacelle portfolio as well as it’s materials and processing expertise.
What YOU will do
- Operationalize corporate AI policy and governance. Flow-down and embed requirements from MRAS and ST Engineering’s governance resources and execution playbooks into day-to-day operations and project tooling.
- Design and build compliance-by-design project tooling. Define and help implement tools and workflows for AI project intake, scoping, approvals, tracking, and reporting (e.g., Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio), with guardrails, attestations, and audit trails integrated by default.
- Lead the AI training program. Create curricula and materials, schedule and run trainings, engage third-party trainers, and track completions and recognition to drive adoption across MRAS.
- Embed AI into our own operations. Implement AI features (assistants, agents, orchestration) inside operational tools so the AI team’s ways of working serve as exemplars of an AI-native approach.
- Measure impact and report outcomes. Define operational KPIs for training, project throughput, compliance status, cycle time, and realized value. Prepare monthly readouts for leadership, aligning with AI Steering Committee and enterprise reporting processes.
- Partner across functions. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Programs, Legal, IT/Cyber, and CI to align on policies, approvals, and data readiness checklists; coordinate with corporate AI, Risk & Assurance, and Digital Platform teams as required.
- Continuously improve the system. Capture feedback, iterate processes, and raise the bar on speed, quality, and compliance for AI delivery at MRAS.
What YOU must bring to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a relevant field with at least 1 year demonstrated experience (internship/co-op, project, or entry-level role) building or operating digital workflows and tools.
- Experience implementing operational tooling with Microsoft technologies (e.g., SharePoint/Lists, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio) is highly preferred.
- This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.
Desired Characteristics
- Exposure to governance frameworks and control checklists; ability to embed approvals and attestations into tooling.
- Interest in continuous improvement; e.g. Lean or Six Sigma training.
- Passion for teaching and enablement; experience creating learning content or delivering workshops.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and agentic workflows (LLMs, prompt design, Copilot/Studio, Azure OpenAI) and eagerness to learn deeply.
- Strong process orientation: able to translate policy and governance requirements into practical templates, checklists, and workflows.
- Clear communication skills with stakeholders across business, engineering, legal, IT, and CI; organized and detail-oriented.
- Curiosity and bias to action; comfortable owning outcomes and iterating in a fast-moving environment.
- Practical experience with agentic solutions or AI assistants for workflows.
