We are seeking a highly motivated design and development quality assurance representative to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organization Approval (DOA) requirements and compliance with FAA certification requirements. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in managing design engineering quality assurance processes and regulatory compliance of aircraft structures, nacelles or engine components.

What YOU will do:

  • Act as the designated Engineering Design Quality Assurance Representative to ensure compliance with EASA DOA and FAA certification requirements.
  • Develop, execute and maintain documentation for engineering quality assurance procedures within the Quality Management System.
  • Monitor the design change process to ensure alignment with the DOA-defined procedures.
  • Serve as the Independent Monitor for programs with delineated Design Assurance Coordinator (DAC) role.
  • Review customer technical specifications and compliance data, support DAC in maintaining the compliance matrix, and ensure timely feedback to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with DAC, Engineering Program Managers, SME, customers, partners, and internal departments to ensure airworthiness compliance.
  • Manage and maintain the DOA signatory approval status documentation and the related surveillance documentation.
  • Prepare surveillance and internal audit plans working with the program, Quality Engineering and the customer, and lead coordination efforts for the timely execution of the audits.
  • Lead or support internal audits, author audit report and coordinate follow-ups.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external (DOID) audits conducted by customers and regulators.

 

What YOU must bring to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in aerospace or regulated design and manufacturing environments.
  • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status

  • Strong analytical and organization abilities, with attention to details and thoroughness with documentation.
  • Proven skills in process monitoring with the ability to independently assess compliance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective engagement with technical teams and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience working with SMEs and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

Estimate salary range for this role: $92,000 to $138,100 per year. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
