We are seeking skilled Electrician to plan and layout work, analyze malfunctioning electrical equipment, recommend corrective actions. Required to install, repair and maintain all electrical systems and equipment such as generators, motors, transformers, switches, controls, and associated circuits. Please note that Seniority may determine shift assignments, this role has a high probability of requiring off shift schedule.

What YOU will do:

•    Investigates faults or difficulties being reported by the operations team on electrical systems, lighting, outlets, wiring, etc. After analyzing the reported malfunction and determining the level of repair needed the employee will notify His or Her supervisor and begin the repair process. These repairs will be performed to bring the equipment back to safe and compliant operating status. The employee will be tasked with providing a detailed summary of repairs and will request that any spares used be evaluated for replenishment. Employees will work with Facilities engineers to evaluate failed components. Together they can determine if OEM or a certified repair process for component rebuild/refurbishment is a viable option.

•    Determines proper method of removing covers or machine guarding to gain access to components for testing and repairs. Removal or installation of Electrical cabinets and guarding must be done by following industry applicable safety protocol.  
•    Diagnose, troubleshoot and determine proper method for repair or replacement of failed components. Submits information to supervisor or Facilities office for approval of subsequent repair or necessary purchases.
•    Installation and maintenance on electrical equipment that powers factory machinery such as lathes, multi-axis drilling and milling machines, paint booths, automated assembly and layup robots, electric welders, and items of similar complexity. 
•    Ability to work from work orders, service requests, blueprints, wiring sketches and Electrical schematics. Utilizes verbal information from Senior employees in your field of expertise, maintenance supervisors and or Facilities engineers.
•    Analyzes malfunctions and replaces or repairs LED, fluorescent and incandescent electric light circuits, bulbs, fixtures, standard circuits, accessory electrical outlets for droplights. The lighting will be located on the interior and exterior of the facility. Electric repair and installation on vacuums, fans, pumps, compressors and other industrial equipment.
•    Once repair or installation is complete, the employee will test equipment to ensure safety, performance, and accuracy meet requirements before turning over to end users. Responsible for reporting mechanical problems to the supervisor and locking out un-safe systems. Proactive in proceeding with necessary repairs utilizing relevant safety protocols. Reviews schematics, writing diagrams, performance specifications and manufacturing manuals to become familiar with the design and operating requirements of the equipment. 
•    Ability to set up and operate a variety of highly sensitive and precise electronic test tools and equipment. Conduct functional and operation testing on electrical equipment. 
•    When asked, the employee will be responsible for assisting with the planning of upcoming installations, repairs, and PMs of electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment. Performs preventive maintenance utilizing work orders and relevant schematics and user manuals. 
•    Maintain logs and reports necessary for preventive maintenance and service records. Communicates with management and supervision by verbal, written and electronic means.
•    Determines routing, location and method of installing wires, conduits, electrical equipment, fixtures and accessories working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and sketches. Computers wire gauge, power and load limit requirements when required. Examine malfunctioning electrical equipment and determines if repairs or replacement parts are needed, disassembles and takes part or parts to repair shop. Familiar with performing motor winding alterations for speed and voltage changes. 
•    Assist with other maintenance duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements
•    The ability to read and interpret all types of maintenance blueprints and specifications, use of shop mathematics.
•     Ability to compute wire sizes. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as multimeters, voltmeter, clamp meters, power monitors and other tools and gauges used to analyze and repair electrical components.
•    Use appropriate PPE, tools and proper clothing requirements when working on and around Electrical panels and components. Demonstrate a commitment to following safe procedures and adhere to safe repair practices.
•    Willingness and ability to instruct and assist less experienced electricians and electrical mechanics. 
•    A physically demanding role with exposure to loud noises, potential hazards, and often dirty environments, requiring the use of protective gear, frequent standing, lifting heavy parts, and working in tight spaces. 

 

What YOU must bring to Succeed:

Must have a Journeyman’s Electricians license that is current with the State of Maryland.

HS Diploma/GED equivalent

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.

 

Preferred Characteristics

o    Prior use of AutoCad Electronics toolbar for schematic creation.
o    Experience performing Electrical work in a large industrial setting.
o    Experience with High power substations.

Salary for this role: $38.00 per hour. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location.
