What YOU will do:

As a Avionics Crew Chief shall be directly responsible to the Avionics Manager for the overall operation of the Avionics Department.  He/she shall plan, direct, lay out and coordinate the activities of all departments within the Repair Station to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.

 

  • Make available the necessary manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives and any other required technical data.
  • Maintain all shop equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition.
  • Ascertain that all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible mechanic.
  • Maintain the premises of the Repair Station in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Be responsible for the proper handling of all parts while in repair process and the preservation of all units or parts during process through the shop and after work is completed.
  • Initiate requisitions for stock and materials required.
  • Evaluate departmental operations recommending improvements in quality, productivity and employee relations. Implement programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality as maintained by VT SAA’s Quality Assurance program.  Resolve departmental problems by identify the problem, researching alternatives, analyzing the costs and benefits, implementing the best alternative and evaluating the end results.

What YOU must bring to Succeed:

  • AS Avionics/Electronics, or Airframe and Powerplant Technology.
  • FAA Airframe Certification required, powerplant preferred.
  • Three (3) years Avionics Maintenance
  • Professional supervision for the Crew Chief, three (3) years’ experience required.
