Are you a highly skilled mechanic? The Ground Support Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining and servicing ground support equipment under the guidance of the Ground Support Lead and Facilities Supervisor. This position requires basic automotive maintenance skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to punctuality and professionalism. What YOU will do: 
As a Ground Support Mechanic, you will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn about new systems and technologies related to vehicle and equipment maintenance. In addition to being proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, you will be able to operate various types of equipment including golf carts, pickup trucks, aircraft tugs, forklifts, cranes, hoists, and ladders. Lastly, you will be performing a wide range of tasks and adjusting to new maintenance procedures or equipment as needed in addition to maintaining tools in serviceable condition and adhering to safety protocols.

 

In This Role, You Will:

 

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, and fueling combustion-powered equipment safely.
  • Accurately log all maintenance activities and fluid levels.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain and repair gas and electric-powered carts.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all ground support equipment, including vehicles, aircraft jacks, tow bars, maintenance stands, and more.
  • Ensure tools are properly stored and maintained in serviceable condition.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety standards.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Ground Support Lead or Facilities Supervisor.

 

What YOU need:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on mechanical experience, preferably in automotive or equipment maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment including golf carts, pickup trucks, aircraft tugs, forklifts, cranes, and hoists.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices and maintains a clean, organized workspace.
