SUMMARY:

The Ground Support Mechanic is responsible and reports to the Ground Support Lead and Facilities Supervisor. You must be able to perform general automotive maintenance under limited supervision. Be a team player with ability to make independent decisions and or justify actions according to his/her job performance of duties. Must be punctual.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform a variety of duties to include oil changes, fluid checks, dispense fuel into combustion powered equipment safely, check and top off fluids and keep logs of all tasks performed, etc.
  2. Be able to locate and troubleshoot gasoline and diesel engine issues as well as transmission and electrical issues.
  3. Able to perform maintenance of gas and electric powered carts
  4. Perform preventative maintenance on all Ground support equipment including but not limited to gas, diesel and electric powered motor vehicles, aircraft jacks, tow bars, maintenance stands, etc.
  5. Maintain and store various tools in a serviceable condition
  6. Adhere to safe maintenance and keep a clean work station
  7. Perform any duties that may be assigned by his/her lead or supervisor

  

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:  Mechanical abilities and willing to learn any new mechanical systems required to maintain vehicles and or equipment. Operation of power tools, hand tools, vehicle diagnostic equipment, golf cart, and pick-up truck, ladders, aircraft tug, forklift, crane, hoist, etc.     

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

           

SUPERVISION:  Under immediate direction

 

            INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:   Must be able to take direction; a moderate

            level of Interpersonal skills are required to maintain an effective relationship with

            Employees/co-workers.                     

 

            PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

           

            EDUCATION:          High School diploma or GED required.

 

            EXPERIENCE:        1-2 years mechanical experience.
