What YOU will do: Take charge of engineering and certification operations to ensure regulatory compliance, technical excellence, and program success across aviation projects.
In This Role, You Will:
- Oversee engineering and certification activities, ensuring compliance with FAA and international regulations
- Lead and optimize engineering workflows for efficiency and quality outcomes
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and program risks
- Ensure engineering programs are executed on schedule and within regulatory requirements
- Maintain and enhance company engineering procedures, policies, and standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and certification processes
- Support proposal development, pricing strategies, and technical bid submissions
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership to improve operational performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams to build a strong leadership pipeline
- Extensive experience in aviation engineering, certification, or MRO environments
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and programs
- Strong knowledge of FAA and international regulatory frameworks
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Working knowledge or ability to acquire skills in the following:
- FAA certification processes and regulatory compliance
- Engineering program management and lifecycle execution
- Risk management and mitigation strategies
- Technical documentation, procedures, and quality systems
- Proposal development and technical writing
- Cross-functional leadership in aviation or aerospace environments
- Continuous improvement methodologies
What YOU need:
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
SUPERVISION: Under the general direction of a supervisor. Normally performs duties after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is usually reviewed upon completion.
INTERPERSONAL RELATION: A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to remove and replace parts in a timely manner. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one’s own safety due to the dangers involved. The working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and report to work regularly.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required
PREFFERED: Advanced degree preferred
