What YOU will do: 

The Manager Quality Control/Chief Inspector responsible to the Director of Quality for the management and execution of all Quality Control Inspections.   He/she shall serve as a member of the Management Team and is primarily responsible for ensuring product and service quality.

 

In This Role, You Will:

  • Provide leadership and supervise quality control inspection staff to ensure high productivity and technical integrity.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.
  • Implement and maintain quality control objectives and criteria consistent with customer requirements and Company’s goals and missions.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedure in cooperation with other Company managers to maximize product reliability and minimize cost.
  • Provide and oversee inspection activity for products throughout the Company. 
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer engagement.  Investigate (and correct) internal and external customer issues relating to quality control.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
  • Maintain an active involvement in continuous improvement efforts to achieve Company goals.
  • Interact with the FAA (FSDO & CMO) on matters pertaining to inspection and quality control.
  • Assess quality control resources requirements for each project and make daily adjustments for schedule and financial success.
  • Play a leading role in long-term planning process for the quality control department, including all initiatives geared toward operational excellence.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant support departments to meet operational goals.

  • The Manager, Quality Control/Chief Inspector may delegate duties and responsibilities to qualified personnel as necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the Manager, Quality Control/Chief Inspector of overall responsibility and accountability for the Quality Control function and regulatory compliance.

 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office.  Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours. Evaluate departmental operations recommending improvements in quality, productivity and employee relations. Implement programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality as maintained by VT San Antonio Aerospace, Inc. Quality Assurance program.  Resolve departmental problems by identify the problem, researching alternatives, analysing the costs and benefits, implementing the best alternative and evaluating the end results.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

         

          EDUCATION:          Four years BS or equivalent in Training, Education and/or experience.

                                          

          Experience:            Five years Commercial Maintenance, five years’ Inspection, five years Quality Control Management.
