What YOU will do: 

 

The Interior Mechanic role requires proficiency in the safe use of tools and equipment, including drill motors, rivet guns, and specialized aircraft interior tools. Candidates should have expertise in removing, installing, and servicing interior components such as panels, insulation, flooring, seats, overhead bins, window shades, carpets, and emergency equipment. Responsibilities also include servicing lavatories, potable water systems, disinfecting interiors, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the aircraft. A solid understanding of ATA codes, FAA regulations, company policies, and documentation procedures—such as job cards, time cards, and service bulletins—is essential. The position also demands the ability to follow sign-off procedures, maintain tools in serviceable condition, and provide training for lower skill levels when needed.

 

In This Role, You Will:

 

  • Remove, clean, service, and replace various aircraft components using specialized tools and ground support equipment, following written and oral instructions.
  • Recover and refurbish aircraft seats and armrests.
  • Service all aircraft emergency equipment according to specifications.
  • Provide training and guidance to lower skill levels as needed.
  • Maintain tools in serviceable condition and ensure proper storage.
  • Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep work areas clean.
  • Record work performed on OJT forms for the Training Department.
  • Complete all required training courses assigned by the Training Department.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

 

What YOU need:

 

  • Supervision: Works under general direction with assignments reviewed upon completion; some discretion in methods and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Requires strong communication and teamwork to maintain effective relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical Environment: Frequent mobility throughout aircraft sections; ability to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces and lift up to 50 lbs. Must maintain focus under pressure and adhere to strict safety standards.
  • Sensory Requirements: Good hearing and color recognition are essential for operational accuracy and safety.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 24 months in heavy commercial maintenance, including C and D check preferred.
  • Additional Requirements: Commitment to company policies and ongoing training as assigned.
