JOB SUMMARY: 

   

The Production Controller is responsible for the administrative needs of the work control dock. He/She must work closely with the Project Manager, Project Planner and Customer to ensure that all facets of the work dock related functions are being performed in an efficient and effective manner. A successful Production Controller will achieve and maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise with VT SAA and customer work dock procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Ensure that the work docks operate to the requirements of PPM PL-005.
2.    Maintain a high degree of proficiency with all VT SAA and Customer work dock processes.
3.    Be able to work in any customers operating environment without supervision. (Sceptre, TRAX, IMAX, DECS, PCS and others)
4.    Perform any and all functions and processes required to operate in the work dock and customer system environments.
5.    Ensure proper movement of all documents, in and out of the work dock.
6.    Work with the Production Control Supervisor and fellow Production Controllers to set priorities and effectively assign staff to cover the daily workload.
7.    Identify critical situations and act to resolve with minimal reaction time. 
8.    During absences, act in place of an Advanced Production Controller assigned to a specific program.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:    

Proficient knowledge of aircraft manuals and related materials. Knowledge of all paperwork procedures including job cards, routine/ non-routine cards, sign off procedures. Must be familiar with FAR’s and company policies and procedures. Must have the ability to coordinate the efforts of all departments in a professional manner to maintain effective working relationships. 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    
SUPERVISION: Reports to the Planning Supervisor but is expected to perform duties with minimal supervision.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A high level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship between departments and customers representatives.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Job responsibilities are performed in a work dock but are not limited to the work dock. Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach and climb stairs without limitation.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 


EDUCATION:      High school diploma or GED required.
                

EXPERIENCE:     Minimum 3 years commercial aviation experience in Production, Planning, or dock control. Preferably repair station oriented.
