As a Purchasing professional, you’ll support the procurement of materials, supplies, parts, services, and special tools by obtaining bids, processing requisitions, preparing purchase orders and RFQs, and evaluating supplier quotations in accordance with company guidelines. From coordinating with vendors and transportation providers to tracking deliveries, resolving shortages or discrepancies, interpreting customer contracts, and communicating order status with internal teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate procurement activities. ST Engineering Aerospace is located in Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. What YOU will do:  

Reports to the Purchasing Manager. Under direction of the Purchasing Manager, performs entry level duties such as obtaining bids and facilitating the purchase of materials, supplies, and parts within company guidelines. Responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with project related procurement. This position is responsible for timely order placement and materials delivery scheduling to ensure successful operations.

 

In This Role YOU will: 

  • Under supervision, initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools.
  • Assures timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
  • Processes WFG requisitions.
  • Understands and correctly interprets customer contracts and airworthiness agreements.
  • Composes and edits bid specifications.
  • Compose RFQ’s.
  • Summarizes and evaluates quotations submitted by suppliers.
  • Contacts vendors regarding shortages, overages, breakages, etc.
  • Solicits bids by telephone, internet, FAX and then compares and analyzes price quotations.
  • Interfaces with program personnel to provide latest status on outstanding requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Contacts vendors (freight forwarders, brokers, and other transportation companies) to obtain shipping status on delivery schedules.
  • Consults with the production staff as needed regarding purchase orders, requisitions, and confirmation of orders.
  • Assists with various purchasing procedures, inventories, accounts, and proposals.
  • Performs other related work as required (ie., on call week via rotation schedule)

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Solid mathematical skills. Ability to analyze technical data from suppliers’ proposals. Excellent organizational and negotiation skills. Required proficiency in various software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access), SAP, and current procurement systems.

Climate controlled office / classroom environment but not limited to this environment. 

SUPERVISION:

The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion. However, limits of authority are set by supervision and company policies. Total end results determine effectiveness of job performance.

INTERPERSONAL ENVIORNMENT:

A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and the public.

PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT:

Essen Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to handle fast-paced work environment and pressures associated with stretch targets and short deadlines. Ability to multi-task, maintaining multiple projects, targets, deadlines simultaneously. Working hours may include extended workdays. Most responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office.  Must be able to cope with stress due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.

 

What YOU Need:

  • 2 years of academic studies at the college level, preferably in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or Communications, or equivalent purchasing experience.
  • At least 1 year of procurement-related work experience (exposure to purchasing or requisition processing and/or experience in aviation/military related procurement
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office), written and verbal communications skills required.
  • SAP or other ERP systems experience a plus.
