As our Network Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing and supporting the enterprise network infrastructure. Your day-to-day will involve the installation, configuration, support, and monitoring of network systems, firewalls, and network connectivity, ensuring our business operates smoothly and securely. In addition to overseeing the network, you’ll collaborate on administering our Windows environment, contributing to the stability and security of our systems. You will act as the go-to subject matter expert on all things networking, working alongside other business units to ensure seamless connectivity and protection of our infrastructure.

 

This is a hybrid onsite role based in San Antonio, TX.

What YOU will do: 

As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the management, installation, configuration, support and monitoring of enterprise network, firewall, and network connectivity along with assisting in the administration of a windows environment. The Network Administrator role would be responsible for the management and support of enterprise network, firewall, and network connectivity along with assisting in the administration of a windows environment for assigned Business Units. This role would serve as a networking subject matter expert and partner with other Business Unit teams as needed. 

 

This is an onsite role based in San Antonio, TX. Preferred candidate is expected to be physically in the office.

 

  • Develop and monitor reliability and integrity of network infrastructure and operating systems.
  • Implement and adhere to network security standards, procedures and IT policies including detection, auditing, logging, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve the network performance and connectivity problems.
  • Administer system backups, anti-virus protection, spam, spyware, disk, and data storage managements including archiving etc.
  • Define, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewall policies.
  • Perform packet captures when to address network traffic issues.
  • Regularly monitor, analyze, and interpret firewall logs.
  • Periodically review and recommend firewall rules modification to ensure adherence to company policy and business requirements.
  • Panorama & Prisma cloud management experience a plus
  • Perform network maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of network related issues including internet access, internal servers and applications, remote access, phone systems, Wi-Fi and printers.
  • Support patch management and upgrades for various network equipment and infrastructures, ensuring infrastructure firmware are updated and security vulnerabilities remediated.
  • Support multiple Windows servers, active directory domains, and Azure environment and assist with administration of O365 exchange and Active Directory environment.
  • Serve as a critical team member in the event of a security incident or network outage
  • Works with team members on maintaining an inventory tracking mechanism for software and software licenses; printer hardware; terminal hardware; and data jacks and ports.
  • Document network operating procedures, diagrams, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques used to accomplish the requirements of the position.
  • Provides technical guidance as necessary to other team members.
  • Relevant duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either orally or in writing.

 

 

What YOU need to be successful: 

              

EDUCATION:     

  • Minimum associate degree in information systems/Networking/Management Information System is required.
  • Palo Alto certification is a plus.
  • CISCO CCNA, CompTia Network +, CompTia Security+ certifications or equivalent is a plus.
  • CISCO experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional, A+, or similar certification is a plus.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 5+ years of professional IT experience.
  • 4 Years of Network Management experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience with managing and configuring Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Strong Interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of network administration including L2/L3, Switches, Firewalls, LAN & WAN design.
  • Experience with Networking, Ethernet, IPSEC, TCP/IP Protocol, VLAN, VPN, and relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge and experience with Tanium, FireEye, and Logic Monitor is a plus.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • May walk approximately 3 hours per day on concrete/carpet surfaces for special hardware task. including removing, rectifying, and replacing computer hardware and cabling in a timely manner. 
  • Lift up 50 lbs.
